Shatema Winston is a mother of three children who was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She has loved reading and writing since childhood and knew one day that she would become an author.  With her youngest son Jeremiah being her biggest inspiration, The Adventures of William and Jeremiah Mystery Series, was birthed. The book came alive when a good friend’s “miracle baby,” William, who has Down’s Syndrome was born. She wanted to shed light that even though children have differences, they can and will come together to develop long lasting friendships. The Case of the Missing Necklace is the first volume of this new series. She is now focusing her efforts on developing writings to bring attention to children with learning differences and bridging the gap with others to create understanding and compassion.
